Mayodia Pass
The high forested pass between Roing and the upper Dibang Valley.
Mayodia — also written Mayudia — is the pass on the road between Roing and the upper Dibang Valley. It is the defining sector of any Anini journey: a long climb through dense forest, a cold, often misty top, and a slow descent on the far side.
In the coldest months snow is possible here, which is why it appears on so many Northeast itineraries. Snow is also the main reason the sector occasionally becomes difficult.

Planning the crossing
Start early from Roing. The climb is slow, and being caught on the descent after dark serves no purpose. Refuel before leaving Roing, carry warm clothing regardless of the weather in the plains, and expect patchy mobile coverage.
