Dibrugarh is the practical road head for the eastern districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Most travellers fly into Dibrugarh, pick up a vehicle here, and cross into Arunachal the same or next morning.

Permits
Indian nationals require an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Arunachal Pradesh. Foreign nationals have separate requirements and some frontier areas carry additional restrictions. We assist with the process and tell you clearly what is needed for your specific route; we do not promise access to areas where permission is not ordinarily granted.
Realistic daily distances
A hundred kilometres of Arunachal hill road is not a hundred kilometres of Assam highway. Sectors such as Roing–Mayodia–Anini, Tezu–Hayuliang–Walong and Aalo–Mechuka take most of a day. We build itineraries against that reality and will say when a request cannot be done in the days available.
Fuel, connectivity and halts
Fuel availability thins out beyond the district towns, mobile coverage is intermittent in the valleys, and accommodation in places such as Anini and Walong is limited and basic. None of this makes the journey difficult — it just makes advance planning necessary.
