Route
Dibrugarh to Walong Taxi
Plains to Tezu, then a long, slow river-gorge road through Hayuliang to Walong
Walong, in Anjaw district, is among the easternmost inhabited places in India reachable by road, and the drive up the Lohit gorge is the reason to go as much as the destination. It is also the site of the 1962 Battle of Walong, remembered at the war memorial.
This is our most demanding standard route. The distances look moderate on a map and take far longer in reality.
