Route

Dibrugarh to Namsai Taxi

Almost entirely plains driving on reasonable surfaces

Namsai is the easiest Arunachal destination to reach from Dibrugarh — flat, surfaced and comfortable in a sedan. It is the district of the Tai Khamti community and home to the Golden Pagoda (Kongmu Kham), one of the most visited Buddhist sites in the Northeast.

Because the drive is straightforward, Namsai works well as a first Arunachal experience, a short break, or a stop on the way to Tezu, Wakro and Parashuram Kund.

A day trip is possible but rushed if you also want Chowkham. Two nights and three days is more satisfying.

The pagoda complex is a functioning religious site — dress modestly and follow local guidance on photography.

This route is comfortable in a Swift Dzire, which keeps costs down for two or three travellers.
