Dibrugarh Airport to Arunachal: Onward Travel Guide
Which onward legs work on arrival day, and which do not.
Last reviewed: Reviewed by the Dibrugarh Gateway / Living Roots destination team
Most travellers heading into eastern Arunachal fly into Dibrugarh. The single most common planning mistake is assuming that the onward drive can begin at any hour and end anywhere.
Realistic on arrival day
With a morning or early afternoon arrival, these onward legs are comfortable.
- Dibrugarh town or Tinsukia
- Namsai and the Golden Pagoda
- Roing, in Lower Dibang Valley
- Tezu, on the Lohit plains
- Miao, for Namdapha
Never on arrival day
These require a planned halt en route, whatever the flight time.
- Anini
- Mechuka
- Walong and Anjaw
- Deban, inside Namdapha
Evening arrivals
For a flight landing after dark, stay in Dibrugarh and start fresh. Mountain sectors in Arunachal should not be driven at night, and no schedule is worth making an exception for.
Permit timing
Have your Inner Line Permit arranged before you fly. Sorting it out on arrival day costs you exactly the daylight hours you need for the drive.
